Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Consumer Loan Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the loan application process, auditing consumer loans to ensure accuracy with loan documentation. This person will communicate with loan staff to make corrections, be available for member calls via the loan servicing phone queue, and train and assist loan staff in processing loan documentation for members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of member service, striving to build relationships with borrowers.
  • Answer telephone for the loan department, provide routine information, and/or route calls to appropriate lending consultant. Take messages and coordinate follow through.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing titles while verifying accuracy to safeguard credit union collateral.
  • Provide assistance to the loan officer and staff, including updating loan data on the credit union’s computers, processing letters, and assembling documentation for member loans.
  • Ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data.
  • Provide assistance to the loan processors and staff, including updating/processing paid loans and release of liens, checking-in titles on new loan files.
  • Assemble and verify accuracy of loan documentation.
  • Check documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, and signatures.
  • Maintain new and paid electronic consumer loan files. Perform a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.
  • Cross‐sell credit union products and services as appropriate.

Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Meticulous professional characteristics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Math aptitude and keyboarding skills
